What the data says
- E is 10.83% of all 9,970 letters - the most common letter by a wide margin.
- S starts 15.05% of all answers (300), by far the most common opener.
- X has never once started an answer - zero out of 1,994.
- 32 words have been used more than once. The first repeat was
CIGAR on puzzle #1690 (2 Feb 2026) - the same word that opened the game in June 2021.
- 31.04% of answers contain a repeated letter, and 58.07% have exactly two vowels.
